Gimbal's Jelly Bean Review & Giveaway
In case you need an excuse to enjoy sweets, June is National Candy Month! As such, I was given the opportunity to sample and review some products from Gimbal's Fine Candies. I had never heard of them before, but since I love trying new gluten free products, I definitely was excited to see what Gimbal's was all about.
Annual Holiday Baking 2012
Every year I look forward to the day when my mom, sister, and I gather to bake a variety of holiday goodies. This tradition is always a blast that includes making messes and lots of laughs. I wanted to share our creations with all of you since our annual holiday baking has
been strictly gluten-free ever since my diagnosis. This makes for an
added challenge, but a much more accomplished feeling when we step back
and admire our work at the end. So here you have it, our holiday
spread. If you would like a recipe, just comment below and I will be more than happy to share it with you.
Best-Ever Gluten-Free Cinnamon Rolls
There are a few foods that I have yet to find a good gluten-free option for. I knew when I was first diagnosed with Celiac Disease that the hardest thing was going to be giving up all the delicious carb-filled sweets that I love so dearly. Luckily, I have found good gluten-free alternatives for most of my beloved desserts.
Gluten Free Blueberry Muffins
I've always felt that weekends are for baking, whether it's cake, cookies, or in this case, muffins. There is just something about turning on the oven and warming the house with delicious smells of sweet goodness. Although gluten-free baking can be a challenge sometimes, it has not deterred me from making all the baked goods I used to love prior to needing a gluten-free diet. In fact, I welcome the challenge.
Gluten Free Yum Yum Coffee Cake
Fall is my favorite season. I love the crisp cool air, the smell of wood stoves burning, warm sweaters and scarves, baking, and the list goes on. Steven, Melanie, a good friend, and myself brought in the season this year by visiting ArtPrize in downtown Grand Rapids, and then adjourning home to bake my Mom's Yum Yum Coffee Cake. To really epitomize the season, we enjoyed our coffee cake with apple cider and vanilla ice cream.
Gluten-Free Strawberry Shortcakes
I went into Meijer this afternoon to get some cleaning supplies, and the first thing staring me in the face (other than the greeter, of course) were big, ripe strawberries. And they were on sale. So I grabbed two cartons and set my mind on making strawberry shortcake.
