Why I Don't Eat Out (Much) Anymore


Prior to my diagnosis with celiac, I was a restaurant and junk food fiend. My favorite food was fried and I would never say no to a dessert or other carb (and gluten) laden treat. So you can imagine my devastation when I found out that basically all of my favorite foods were off limits after finding out I could no longer eat gluten.

I know I post on here all sorts of delicious-looking (and tasting!) recipes, and it appears that I must live a great gluten-free life without any cross-contamination or gluten mishaps. Well, as much as I wish that were true, I definitely have my fair share of "glutenings". In fact, earlier this year I was plagued with nausea which led into panic-attacks for over 4 months! Let me explain.

Labor Day Weekend in Traverse City, MI

After visiting twice this year and having a blast each time, I really honestly believe I could live in Traverse City. The views are simply amazing, the shopping is great, and the wine is delicious...what's not to love? 

I love my Michigan wines!
